Countertops — Chicago, IL

The cost of a kitchen remodel in Chicago really depends on what you want. Bigger changes, like moving walls or adding custom cabinets, will cost more than simply updating countertops and appliances. The materials you choose also play a huge role. Solid surface countertops, for example, have a different price point than granite. We can give you a clearer idea once we know your specific plans.

Quartz countertops are very popular in Chicago kitchens for good reason. They're durable and low-maintenance. One thing to consider is that they are engineered, not a natural stone like granite. While they are heat-resistant, it's still best to use trivets for very hot pots and pans. Also, some people prefer the unique patterns found in natural stones.

Both granite and quartz are excellent choices for Chicago kitchens. Granite is a natural stone with unique patterns and a classic look. Quartz is engineered, offering a wider range of colors and patterns, plus it's non-porous and very stain-resistant. The choice often comes down to personal preference and the overall style you're going for in your home.

Generally, quartz and granite countertops in Chicago can be quite similar in price. There's a wide range within both categories. Some premium granites can be more expensive than standard quartz, and vice versa. It really depends on the specific slab or pattern you select. We can help you explore options within your budget.

While quartz is quite heat-resistant, it's not entirely heatproof. It's generally safe to place a warm coffee mug on quartz countertops in your Chicago kitchen. However, for prolonged exposure to extreme heat, like a very hot pot or pan straight from the oven, it's always best practice to use trivets or hot pads. This protects the surface over time.

For most Chicago homeowners, buying pre-made or semi-custom kitchen cabinets is often more practical. Building custom cabinets from scratch can be very expensive and time-consuming. The pros we work with can help you find high-quality cabinets that fit your space and style perfectly, whether you're looking for something from a big box store or a more specialized supplier.

A good kitchen pantry cabinet in Chicago should offer ample storage and easy access. Think about adjustable shelves to accommodate different-sized items, from jars to boxes. Pull-out shelves or drawers can be incredibly useful for reaching items at the back. Good lighting inside the cabinet is also a nice touch for visibility.
